Having decided an evening of live musical entertainment for your wedding reception, you will need to engage a professional mannered, competent and reliable band, the choice is every bit as important to the success of your wedding as a good caterer, venue or photographer.

 

So What Band.. will provide you
with all of this and most importantly are dedicated to ensuring that your wedding reception is unique to YOU - something that sets us apart from many other bands!

We are on hand to work with you, from your initial enquiry all the way through to the end of your special day to ensure that your vision of your reception becomes a reality. This is YOUR wedding and we'll do our best to make sure that it lives up to YOUR expectations!



A Typical Evening
We will to arrive well in advance of the 7:30pm start - to allow for a sound check etc. assume an arrival no later than 6:00pm we start the evening with background music until 8pm it will allow for the room to fill and we can then play from 9:00pm to 9:45pm. We will then supply music to "eat with" (Not forget a fat band is a happy band):o), we can include any favourites you'd like, then depending on how long the guests take to complete the buffet, let's assume the 2nd set starts approx 10:15pm and ends 11:15pm, We can end the night with "up to date" disco music, (assumed 12.30 midnight end)? The above of course assumes you have no disco booked. I would also add, I am describing the music as "background" yet our PA is more substantial than many disco's and we also carry a fine array of both stage and floor lights.

 Disco or no disco we will be at the venue for at least 6 hours.( We can provide you with a full disco with an experienced DJ if required. ) In addition playing the night, beforehand we will also survey the venue to ensure that the venue will be prepared for us and if you do decide to include a disco, we will liase with the hotel to ensure they know our requirements with regards sharing space etc.. A bit more about us A live band at a Wedding function adds a truly exciting dimension to the loud disco that has been the common form for the past decade, many couple are now making sure that their evenings entertainment is special and a night to remember, to this aim booking a live band is an excellent choice and well done for considering this. SoWhat is a professional disco 70 / 80 / 90's band, our public address (PA) system was specially chosen for its full (not harsh) sound range and the stage lighting, musical material, dress code has developed following research to match our target audience i.e. wedding and corporate events. I hope you will feel assured that SoWhat are the right band for your evenings entertainment. When playing wedding evenings we appreciate the wide age diversity one normally associates within a large group of friends and family, to this aim we play a mixed variety of music which we know will hit the spot for most of the audience. Volume will not be an issue as we have a keen awareness that being "too loud" certainly spoils the evening for many of your guests who often find the evening a rare opportunity to catch up with old friends and family. Dress code is an important matter; we can wear either formal suit with bow tie or alternately a more colourful co-ordinate attire which looks great under stage lighting. Rest assured on your special occasion, with the lights down and the music playing you can feel comfortable in leaving us to direct the entertainment for your special night.

We often arrange "spot prizes", we find the audience participation enthuses a "party" atmosphere and gets people on the floor, quite often this starts the "dancers" in the audience and the night turns into a great night for all concerned (band included), The presents would be supplied beforehand by yourself with an indication as to whom they would be best matched i.e. male or female, they would also be tagged with compliments slip signed by the bride and groom. The present types are of your own choosing but the funnier the better. I hope this will give you the confidence to trust us with this important night.

But choosing live bands is something that few   people have   had experience
of and consequently advice, guidance and recommendations   can be difficult to find. So what should you be looking for   beyond the obvious prerequisites
of a good sound and the ability to provide floor filling dance music?

  their equipment with the minimum of fuss, requiring nothing    more than adequate space and a mains plug socket.

          Are able to vary the type of music that they play and     strive to provide 'something for everybody', i.e. the same       type of music for an entire evening will probably keep only a     small proportion of your guests adequately entertained!
